It’s a strange thing to say, but something I designed is bolted into the empire state building, and that’s pretty cool… I worked on the mechanical design for these hands which are included in an exhibit in the Empire State Building. These hands have linear transducers that shake one of the hands, and have to be robust enough to handle guests climbing on them while vibrating all day long at high amplitude low frequency.
