Saab 96 841cc 3-Cylinder Two-Stroke Engine – 1967 – Oil Injected – Late Block – Not Monte Carlo – Fits Saab 93 95 96 Sonett GT850
Up for sale is a complete Saab inline three-cylinder two-stroke engine and transmission pulled from a 1967 Saab 96 that is being parted out. The 841cc displacement engine is from a late production two-stroke car — this is the desirable oil injection (oil induction pump) block, which automatically feeds oil into the engine and eliminates the need to measure and add oil to the fuel tank with every fill-up. This is NOT a Monte Carlo / Sport triple-carb engine — it is the standard late oil-injected block.
These engines are becoming increasingly rare and hard to source. Finding a fully original example is becoming increasingly unlikely as time goes by Vsaab, and good cores for rebuilding are in high demand among the vintage Saab community.
This engine suffered a needle bearing failure and hard seizure, and has been partially overhauled.

Cast Iron Block bored to street spec for included Wiseco Pistons
Two stroke transmission
