By visiting Schimmel Engineering, your personal data is used by us to conduct business. It is not sold, or repackaged, but may be used to fulfill orders, contact you, target ad campaigns etc. Orders are placed through squarespace.com retail center, and correspondence delivers to a Gmail account. You may request deletion of your data, and immediately discontinue our services at any time by email.
I would like a print file for a product not listed on your website. Can you help create a 3D model?
Absolutely! Empowering owners of vehicles I’m passionate about, enthusiasts and makers brings me a ton of joy! If you have a project, please reach out! If you’re handy in any modeling program, my base rate for scans is $130 for a 1ft/30cm cube. Shoot me a message through the contact page! If you bring me a good idea, I’m frequently able to offer free parts in exchange for fitment feedback to create new products! If you want to purchase and own data, I do that too (just not for existing designs). High end scanning equipment is still expensive, let me help you skip to the design stage on your project!
I am interested in one of your products, but the color or material does not match my needs. Are you willing to produce in a custom color/material?
Absolutely! I realize the configuration I pick may not be the configuration you need for your application. I frequently have parts produced with MJF, DMLS, SLS, FDM and SLA out of house. I run FDM machines in house for PETG prints, and outsource everything else. There is frequently little to no additional cost for color changes, and many material substitutions are very reasonable.
I own a 3D printer, and I would like to borrow/rent/lease/receive a copy of the STL for a product on your site.
I do not transmit data for released products under any circumstances unless it is the complete sale of the intellectual property of a product. Once a product reaches eBay or the website, it has an average of 40 hours in it developing installation instructions, dialing prints in, photographing, listing, and marketing. But, I don’t want to use your product STL for commercial gain, will you transmit it to me anyway?
No, I do not transmit data under any circumstances for released products unless it is the complete sale of the intellectual property of a product. Full stop.
I still think I can convince you to lease/rent/loan me an STL. Where do I reach out?
